Absolutely one of the sweetest babies you've met, raised with and likes children, so affectionate, well trained, stunning colors, no health issues or problems. Adored by staff when she boards. Original mom had zero love for her, asked vet to euthanize solely b/c she could clear a 3ft fence to go find people when left outside and ignored! Found abandoned and starving to death near Chatsworth, GA. Beautiful hazel eyes and white coat w/tan eye patch and brown spot on ear/flank. Extremely high energy, will need high athletic level of activity AND REQUIRES HIGH-ENERGY, WORKING-DOG DIET to maintain weight (i.e. that fed to working dogs that herd all day). He had blood work and other tests run but wasn't found to have any health problems or intestinal issues at all, just extreme energy expenditure by nature. Sasha is about 4yrs old, a little 27lb cutie in need of a JRT-savvy home. Her original parents did her a disservice by never introducing her to anyone outside the family as she grew up, so her foster mom needed 3 visits to get her used enough to her presence to come home w/her, then her foster dad one day had to just pick her up and take her outside in spite of her growling for her to realize suddenly that he was in charge & all was okay with the world. She's up in the air w/kids; in her past life, she belonged to a very sweet 8yr old girl whom she worshipped & daily waited for her return from school; but she seems very upset by little boys who race around the aisles at the petstore during adoptions. Therefore we'd recommend older (teen) kids if any in the home. Now she adores her foster dad & follows him everywhere. She needs a deep bond w/one or two adult family members that'll last the rest of her life. She would probably prefer to be in her safe spot (roomy crate) in a bedroom while guests are over so she doesn't stress out over strangers intruding. Like any terrier or hound, she'll need LOTS of daily activity, toys & puzzles to challenge her in her crate while you're away, and long, interesting walks to get sufficient exercise & outdoorsy time--always on a leash or she'll run away! This beautifully marked girl is only about 42lbs, clearly not a pure Rottie. Her tan markings are brindled with black striping, and she has a white mark on her chest that looks like a heart-shaped flower in a triangular vase; yes, I'm serious! Found running back & forth on a busy road at 10:30 at night, we never located the owners or any posters/ads for Missing Dog matching her. She was wearing a fluorescent orange collar but had no tags or chip, and definitely had puppies in the recent past. We think she was used as a breedmom dog w/very inadequate attention, as she initially acted fearful of men and was much too thin. It took 2 days to ... (Read More)catch her, but she followed us home that first night & hung around the neighborhood. The local school children dropped cheese & lunchmeat pieces for her, and that evening, she returned to them for food; only this time, allowed herself to be caught & petted! She turned out to be housetrained & crate-trained, very playful & sweet-natured, and she just adores children, but we'd recommend over 5yrs old as she can be mouthy. The vet thinks she is about 5yrs old. Now she's fixed, vaxed, tested heartworm-negative, wormed, chipped, on monthly HW and flea/tick prevention. No more pup factory, no more neglect! She needs a family w/lots of time to play w/her and exercise her. Now that she's gained some weight where her ribs & backbone no longer protrude, her glossy black coat is just gorgeous & she's the picture of health and stamina--loves to run at top speed w/other playful dogs similar in size.
